| Other Details: | The Simonsig Estate vineyards stretches out over 211 hectares around the northern side of Stellenbosch at the foot of the Simons mountain. It is generally acknowledged as the largest private producer of estate wines in South Africa. The cellars were rebuilt in 1964 and again expanded in 1983. Simonsig produces varieties like Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Pinotage. In addition some highly successful blends like Tiara and the Frans Malan Reserve are known for their excellent quality and highly respected by wine connoisseurs. |
