| Other Details: | Our rich history is immediately evident from the classic Cape Dutch gable homestead built in 1800 by the founder of Nederburg, Philippus Wolvaart, who acquired land in the Paarl Valley in 1791. When you visit you will see how the whitewashed walls, thatched roof, yellowwood flowers and beams and prominent verandah, have been faithfully restored and the house furnished with prized examples of Cape antique furniture. Exquisitely prepared dinners are still served in the impressive dining room and the house is soughtafter as a venue for soirees, film shoots and fashion shows. |
